Are You Effectively Measuring Marketing?

Just recently the results 2010 Omniture Online Analytics Benchmark Survey were announced. Some of the key results from the study were:

—-80% believe ROI from online marketing activities is important to measure, but only 31% of marketers can effectively measure it

—-86% of respondents think conversion rate from online marketing activities is important to measure, but 25% cannot effectively measure it

Google announces plans to offer Google Analytics Opt-Out

I found it curious when Google announced yesterday on their Google Analytics blog that they would start allowing visitors to opt-out off being tracked by the service.

Being an online marketer who relies heavily on this data, I was scared.

The Econsultancy blog posts a dreary picture on the topic:

Affiliate Summit West Recap

Well, the Affiliate Summit was a great conference, as it always has been. This year attendance was a record levels, and everyone seemed to have a great time networking and networking. There are some very exciting things coming out of the conference (with Ring Revenue and the growth they continue to see with all of the networks being a major highlight), SpinSix’s meetings with potential new network partners like COPEAC, ShareASale and Hydra, and meeting with our friends at both Google Affiliate and Commission Junction.
